After contemplating this question for some time today, I’ve come to the conclusion, though this is my opinion, and thus not set in stone by any means, that the answer is a qualified yes. I say qualified, because eco-friendly may be allowing an old growth forest to remain, rather than logging it out; setting aside an exceptional area as a national park before development infringes on it, and damage is done; or choosing, as a land developer, not to develop a nearby barrier island, thereby foregoing the resulting profits for the better ecology benefits. But, it can also mean engineering a salt marsh, which once existed, back into existence; reintroducing wolves to Yellowstone National Park; or planting tree seedlings on land which has recently been logged; or cleaning up the Potomac and Chicago rivers and Prince William Sound (after the Exxon Valdez oil spill) in the D.C. and Chicago areas, and Alaska, respectively; none of which are all natural, but are certainly eco-friendly in nature.
Regarding my personal interest, forestcityphotoalbums.com, these are handmade eco-friendly photo albums in that they are assembled from items readily at hand in the jungle there on the island of Bali in Indonesia, actually right outside the front door, By encouraging this industry rather than a paper mill, for instance, jobs are still provided for the local people, but no mountains are denuded, and no smokestacks appear on the horizon, and no rivers become polluted, in the process. Thus, the area remains, at least where we are involved, all natural, which is definitely eco-friendly. Going one step further, these also qualify as organic photo albums in that everything used in the assembly process is organic in nature–bamboo, leaves, flowers, seeds, etc. photo albums, your shipping and handling are on us.
